Meet Archie – a lively, curly-coated companion with bags of character and a love of the great outdoors.
I recently had the pleasure of photographing Archie during a natural light dog photography session in the beautiful countryside around Southwell, Nottinghamshire.
From the moment Archie arrived, it was clear he was ready for an adventure. With his soft curls, warm amber eyes and endless energy, he was a joy to work with. Whether bounding across open grass, pausing to pose with a cheeky expression or standing proud amongst the wild greenery, Archie gave us plenty of wonderful moments to capture.
Our session took place across a mix of open meadow, wooded trails and garden space – a perfect setting to let Archie shine.
I always allow dogs to take the lead, so we made time for breaks, sniff stops and the odd squirrel distraction. Patience is key – and with a dog like Archie, who’s both curious and clever, the results were worth every moment.
Archie’s session was a great example of how outdoor dog photography allows a dog’s natural personality to shine through. I focus on creating relaxed and authentic portraits – images that truly reflect your dog as you know them. Archie’s playful charm, expressive face and love for life made each frame feel genuine and heartfelt.
