The rolling countryside of Nottinghamshire made the perfect backdrop for this fun-filled dog photography session with Charlotte and her wonderful group of dogs.
As a professional dog and horse photographer based in Southwell, Notts, I always aim to reflect the individual personalities of every dog I photograph – and this session was no exception. From the very start, it was clear this shoot would be full of energy.
With a mixture of action, portrait and natural moments, we explored woodland trails, autumn leaves and open fields. One of the stars of the day was a black Labrador who seemed to be born for the camera – confidently leaping fences, sitting attentively in the fading light, and peering curiously from behind trees.
Alongside him, a stunning trio of working spaniels posed beautifully against the open landscape – a perfect example of how a group session can be just as impactful as a solo portrait.
Further into the woods, we slowed the pace for some calmer, natural shots surrounded by golden leaves – showcasing not just the dogs’ charm, but their connection with the setting too. What made this shoot particularly special was the range of images we were able to create – a mix of still portraits, movement, and candid moments.
This session is a great example of how a photoshoot doesn’t have to focus on just one dog – with a bit of planning and some behind-the-scenes work, we can create something truly memorable that celebrates your four-legged family as a whole.
