Today is Horse Rescue Day, a day to recognise the Today is Horse Rescue Day, a day to recognise the horses who need care, rehabilitation, patience, and a safe place to land.

As an equine photographer based in Nottinghamshire, UK, I spend a lot of time around horses who are deeply loved. I also know how important local horse rescues are for the horses still waiting for that care, safety, and second chance.

The reel highlights local organisations including Moo Haven in Bridgford, Nottingham, Help for Horses in Nottinghamshire, and Bransby Horses near Lincoln.

These charities rely on donations, volunteers, awareness, and community support to keep doing their work.

If you know a local horse rescue doing brilliant work, comment below so more people can find them.

And if you would like calm, natural photographs of your own horse, comment or message me to book your shoot.

Honestly, we work with it.

Some dogs arrive ready to sniff everything. Some need a run around before they settle. Some need treats, reassurance, space, or a bit of time to realise this is not a test. It is just a calm, relaxed session built around them.

That is the story these images tell so well. Different dogs, different personalities, different pace, but each one captured with care and patience.

As a dog photographer based in Nottinghamshire, UK, I never expect perfect behaviour. I know when to guide, when to pause, when to use movement, and when to let your dog simply be themselves.

So if you are worried your dog will not sit still, you are in very good company.

A beautiful image deserves to be seen properly. F A beautiful image deserves to be seen properly.

Framing your dog’s portrait turns it from a favourite photograph into something you live with every day. It gives the image presence, protects it, and makes it feel part of your home rather than something that stays hidden on a phone or tucked away in a folder.

The right frame also gives the portrait room to breathe. It draws your eye to the detail, the character, the expression, and all those little things that make your dog yours.

Wall art does more than decorate a room. It tells a story. It reminds you of the bond you share, the walks, the muddy paws, the loyal looks, and the personality that fills your home.

Most people put off booking a shoot because they t Most people put off booking a shoot because they think everything needs to be perfect first.

The horse needs to behave.
The weather needs to cooperate.
They need to feel confident in front of the camera.

In reality, none of that is what makes the photos work.

What matters is how you are together. That natural ease, the small habits, the way your horse looks for you without thinking. That is what people connect with when they see your images later on.

My job is to guide you through it so it feels simple and relaxed, and to create something that actually means something once the moment has passed.

Because one day, this will not feel ordinary at all. It will feel like everything.
That is why I do what I do. To give you something to hold onto from the everyday moments you love.

Two completely different personalities, one shared Two completely different personalities, one shared story.

One stands steady, watching the world with quiet confidence. The other sits tall, alert, ready for whatever comes next. This is what I love about photographing dogs together. You do not just capture how they look, you capture who they are and how they fit side by side.

These are the images that mean more over time. The ones that remind you of their bond, their quirks, and the little details that make them yours.

Thinking about a dog photoshoot? Most people pict Thinking about a dog photoshoot?

Most people picture a perfectly behaved dog, sitting still and looking at the camera. But that is not what creates the best images.

It is the head tilt. The focus. The way they move. The split second before they chase the ball. The way they look at you when they think no one is watching.

That is where the magic is.

I am not looking for perfection. I am looking for personality. The real moments that show who your dog actually is.

That is what makes your photos feel like them.

There is something about a dog running straight to There is something about a dog running straight towards you that just feels like pure joy.

No posing, no pressure, just a moment where everything else disappears and it is just them, happy, free, and completely in their element. This is what I love most about dog photography. Capturing that spark that owners see every day but rarely get to freeze in time.

This is your reminder that your dog does not need to sit still or behave perfectly to create something beautiful. The magic is already there.
