Winter Portraits with Dasher – Dog Photography in Southwell

Aug 3, 2025 | Uncategorized

There’s something truly special about early winter mornings – the light, the stillness, and, on this occasion, the company of Dasher.

This session took place in and around Southwell, Nottinghamshire, where I’m based as a professional dog and horse photographer.

Dasher – a striking Hungarian Vizsla – brought bags of personality to his shoot. With his expressive face, rich russet coat and calm confidence, he made the perfect model in both portrait and action shots.

From sitting proud on frosty ground to playfully peeking around a tree trunk, Dasher gave us everything. Whether still or sprinting, his natural grace and warmth radiated through every image. It was a joy to photograph him exploring familiar tracks, darting across grassy fields, and pausing for thoughtful poses in his favourite places.

Sessions like these are always a reminder that great dog portraits don’t need dramatic locations – just a good connection, soft light, and a dog being themselves

.If you’re thinking about booking a session for your own four-legged friend – whether it’s a frosty woodland wander, an open field run, or a quiet moment at home – I’d love to hear from you.

Comment or message me to book your shoot – let’s create something beautiful together.
