Woodland Dog Photography – Ellie’s Adventure in Sherwood Forest

Aug 31, 2025 | Uncategorized

Meet Ellie – a gentle and soulful Springer Spaniel who recently joined me for a woodland adventure in the heart of Sherwood Forest.

This session was a wonderful example of how natural surroundings and patient moments can come together to capture a dog’s true personality.

Ellie was a joy to photograph – full of character and charm, with eyes that speak volumes. From quiet portraits nestled in the mossy woodland floor to joyful trots along forest paths, each image tells a story of companionship, trust and timeless connection.

One of my favourite shots from this session is the portrait of Ellie sitting proudly between her humans – a moment that so simply yet powerfully reflects the bond they share.

We also captured a range of natural outdoor portraits as Ellie explored the woods, stopping occasionally to pose beautifully in the ferns or simply look up with her wise, expressive gaze.

Sherwood Forest is one of my favourite locations for pet photography, with its ancient trees, soft light and seasonal textures providing the perfect backdrop for dogs to relax and be themselves.

Sessions like Ellie’s remind us that some of the most treasured portraits are created in quiet, unhurried moments, surrounded by nature.

As a professional dog and horse photographer based in Southwell, Nottinghamshire, I specialise in creating emotive, natural-light portraits that celebrate the unique personalities of your four-legged companions. Whether you’re in Nottinghamshire or a little further afield, I travel across the region to create lasting memories with you and your pet

Everyone is welcome at my sessions – dogs, horses, partners, and family members too. These are relaxed experiences designed to capture what matters most to you.

Comment or message me to book your shoot – I’d love to hear about your dog and create something special together.
